Sound Hub recognised for the third consecutive year as one of Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs

In a year where Europe’s startup infrastructure continues to scale in both size and sophistication, Sound Hub Denmark has once again been ranked among Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs by the Financial Times.

This marks the third consecutive year that Sound Hub Denmark has been included in the ranking, placing it among only 18 European hubs to achieve that distinction, and making it the only Danish hub to have maintained recognition since the ranking’s inception.

The 2026 edition, released today, expands to 180 hubs, the largest field to date, reflecting record participation and over 7,100 recommendations from founders and experts across Europe. Sound Hub Denmark is ranked number 113 on this year’s list.

In this broad landscape, Sound Hub Denmark continues to achieve a score of 76 (2024: 76.0 | 2025: 76.7 | 2026: 76.2), demonstrating continued performance and relevance for international startups within the soundtech/musictech domain.

The value of specialised acceleration

Sound Hub’s acceleration program is small, with only 8 participants every year, making the continued recognition even more notable. Sound Hub believes the reason is the domain-specific acceleration, where traditional acceleration themes are complemented with technical domain support and facilities, industry networks and sector-specific mentoring. This reduces risk and time from idea to market readiness.

For Peter Petersen, CEO of Sound Hub Denmark, the recognition reflects the growing importance of domain-focused support:

We are proud to be recognised once again by the Financial Times. The ranking is grounded in alumni feedback – the startup’s own experiences and evaluations – making it particularly meaningful to us. We remain closely connected with our alumni, to continuously improve and optimise our program, ensuring both relevance and long-term robustness for the companies, we support.

Founded to support startups operating at the intersection of sound, musictech, audio, acoustics and sound in health, Sound Hub has built a truly international accelerator combining business and commercial training with domain-specific technical support, testing and interaction with the global sound ecosystem. The continued presence in the Financial Times ranking underlines the importance of focused innovation support.

Five hubs in the 2026 ranking represent Denmark. Sound Hub ranks third this year and is the only Danish hub to be consistently included across editions, reinforcing its position as a stable, internationally recognised growth environment.

About the ‘Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs’ ranking

The annual ranking, compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with Statista, evaluates incubators and accelerators across Europe. The assessment combines alumni recommendations, assessments of mentoring, infrastructure and business support, startup track records, and expert input to provide a transparent, data-driven overview of Europe’s most impactful hubs. More than 7,100 founders who participated in programmes between 2019 and 2024 were surveyed across 39 countries.

As Europe’s startup ecosystem matures, the ranking serves as an independent benchmark helping founders identify high-quality programmes aligned with their stage, sector and strategic ambitions.
