Danish backed Indian based Backyard Creators raises $600K

Fresh out of Sound Hubs international accelerator, Backyard Creators secures USD 600K to push the boundaries of hearing tech.
Backyard Creators, a deep-tech startup working at the intersection of dynamic magnetic transducers and auditory potentials, has raised a USD 600K pre-seed round led by Indian family offices and SoundInvest, a Denmark-based VC specialising in sound innovation. Notably, this marks SoundInvest’s first investment in India, as the company has just completed Sound Hub Denmark’s international SoundTech Accelerator Program.
The funding will be used to accelerate R&D and product development for their flagship innovation – a non-invasive bionic ear designed to help individuals with severe to profound hearing loss. Backyard Creators is pioneering a method that uses magnetic field-induced stimulation to evoke hearing sensations from outside the skull, potentially transforming access to auditory care.

On a mission to redefine hearing
The company was founded by Raman and Lakshmanan, identical twins from India who began this journey during their undergraduate studies. Over the past three years, they have committed themselves full-time to solving the problems, failing on experiments, learning to develop proprietary magnetic transducers, and studying auditory potentials to unlock new, safer ways to restore hearing.
Backyard Creators is expanding its team and actively seeking motivated, purpose-driven talent to join its mission of advancing breakthrough technologies in dynamic magnetic fields and auditory potentials.
